Fun Fact: Once it approaches its top speed, the body panels heat up and expand, closing the gaps. This also explains why they leak fluid when you let them sit for a while.

Little known fact: Discos have gaps like that to cool the electrics. For British vehicles they actually have very few electrical problems and rarely leak smoke [from electrics].
